During Steam’s autumn sales this year I bought Assassin’s Creed Shadows among other discounted titles, but unfortunately due to a Ubisoft configuration it does not work as other titles out of the box if you are using Bazzite on a HTPC. Usually I launch games using sd0 %command% in order to avoid my machine being recognized as a Steam deck and being limited regarding configuration options (as I explained here: https://htpc.ninja/choosing-htpc-console-software/#ultra-settings), but this configuration gets ignored by the game and it caps FPS to 30 and disable the access to advanced video settings. In order to “unlock the game” we need to manually change a configuration file in the game folder. The file is located at:

/var/home/$USER/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3159330/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Assassin's Creed Shadows/ACShadows.ini

And we need to replace:

Profile=pc_steamdeck

with:

Profile=pc_custom

Once the file is updated and saved, we can relaunch the game and being able to see all the advanced settings that were previously hidden and the FPS will be not capped anymore!
